Mrs Beeton&#039;s recipe for Christmas cake, which was popular in Wales at the turn of the last century. <br />

Christmas cake: Mrs Beeton&#039;s recipe number 1754<br />

Ingredients:<br />
 <br />
5 teacupfuls flour<br />
1 teacupful melted butter<br />
1 teacupful cream<br />
1 teacupful treacle<br />
1 teacupful moist sugar<br />
2 eggs<br />
Â½oz of powdered ginger<br />
Â½lb of raisins<br />
1 teaspoonful carbonate of soda<br />
1 tablespoonful of vinegar<br />

It is a little work, but it is soo worth it. When i make it, I do not use and liqueur.. the first time i made it, I did not have any, and it needs none lol.
