    Hi all,

I'd like to find out if you find navigating around this place confusing or not. Do you have any suggestions that would make it easier to find things? Are there options that you'd like to see that aren't here? Is there anything that you'd like to see moved to a different place that would make it easier?

    Let me know :)

How do I ignore a forum - I consider games computer abuse and would like to ignore the interminable "high scores". (Some people have far too much time on their hands!) There was something else but it has fallen through the sieve I use for memory.

    Freda,

To ignore a forum click on "User CP" and "Edit Options" - scroll down and you should see "Miscellaneous Options". That's where you can click on various forums to exclude them from showing up although they WILL (I think) still show up in the "Latest Threads" links. If they don't that's a bonus. :)

Sometimes I want to get right to writing a post... I still have not figured out how to do that. I look at 'My Replies', click on one, and then jump forums... I am not sure how I even got to this message lmao, so I know a part of it is me. I get confused because there are forums, message boards, todays' posts, new posts, and I just wander about 'til I figure out what I need. So for me, there are too many options lol. Or not enough brain matter left to remember where I need to go the first run through (no comment from the peanut gallery Tegan hehe)

Ok, lets see if I can clear the path a bit for you. I'm working on making little video tutorials to help people but as always time runs away with me.

When you first login this should be the first page you see.

There are three navigation bars - I've not sorted these out properly yet and there are some duplicate entries. For instance "Forums" and "Message Boards" are exactly the same - which one do you use/prefer? (All jump in on this one please, majority rules and all that :) )

The middle navigation bar is more of a "your stuff" thing. For instance:

Today's Posts = Messages posted today
My Topics = This finds all threads started by you
My Replies = This *should* find all messages that you've written.

On the bottom navigation bar "New Posts" will take into account all the messages that have been posted since your last visit plus those you've not read (marking forums read resets this).

I'm assuming here that you've clicked on either "Forums" or "Message Boards" and are now faced with the list of sections.

To the right of each section you will see the following three images:

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The first one shows you all new threads in that section. The second one takes you directly to "Start a new thread" in that section and the third one will subscribe you to that section, meaning you will be notified by E-mail whenever a message is posted there.

It's the second image that I think you want. So, if you want to post a message in The Tea Room, scroll down to that section, click the second image and you're taken straight to the compose message window.

Yell if I'm way off track with what you meant here LOL!

I'm not sure how useful that link is to be honest - I'm wondering if its a bit mis-leading but read the section above about it and you can decide for yourself if it's useful to you.

I hope I covered this bit above. If not, hollar :)

Hopefully people will chime in and let me know what they do and don't use and then as I tidy up the forums things that aren't useful will be removed. (Sorry Freda, not the arcade (g,d,r))

Hope this helps and gets others to jump in with their queries and suggestions. :)

    Hi Lynne,

I think like most types of software, it takes a little time to become familiar. When I first started visiting here, I was completely lost. Now I only get lost occasionally. (lol) BUT....you know that's par for the course!
